Welcome to the Practical English module in the Pathway to a Top University course!
This is the third and final module in the Pathway to a Top University course. This module contains 4 units, focusing on developing the four major skills in English: writing, reading, speaking, and listening. Students will practice their skills for everyday situations they are likely to encounter while living in the U.S., and reflect on their experiences and goals through writing journals.
Below, you will find a vocabulary document for all of the units in this module. We hope you’ll review and practice these words regularly, so they become part of your active English vocabulary by the end of the course!
Use the tabs at the bottom of the document to move between lists. Please study the words at home before each unit begins. Vocabulary words are listed in the order they appear in the lesson. The list also includes the part of speech, and space to write definitions, example sentences, and other word forms.
We encourage you to use an English dictionary to search for the meanings of unknown words. There are many online dictionaries for English learners, which offer simple but clear explanations and example sentences! Here is one we recommend:
